Clayton Kershaw's Challenge | Ping Pong 4 Purpose 2023

Members of the Los Angeles Dodgers, along with celebrities and LA legends, gathered at Dodger Stadium for the 10th annual Kershaw’s Challenge Ping Pong 4 Purpose event.

The fundraiser aims to support various organizations, including The Dream Center, Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, Arise Africa, Both Ends Believing, International Justice Mission, and Hope Walks. The event was hosted by Cedric the Entertainer and actor Max Greenfield.

Kershaw's Challenge, a faith-based nonprofit founded in 2011 by Dodger pitcher Clayton Kershaw and his wife Ellen, focuses on serving vulnerable and at-risk children, both locally and internationally.

Despite facing triple-digit temperatures on the Dodgers' off-night between games, a spirited crowd of supporters, including celebrities and players, gathered to lend their unwavering support to the cause. Strolling down the Blue Carpet were the event's charismatic co-hosts, comedian Cedric the Entertainer, and the talented actor Max Greenfield, who set the tone for an unforgettable evening.

The star-studded affair boasted an impressive lineup of notable names, with actors like Mario Lopez, Holly Robinson-Peete, Joel McHale, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, the iconic duo from Breaking Bad.

Dodger 1st Baseman, Freddie Freeman praised Kershaw's efforts in community outreach, acknowledging the inspiring work that often goes beyond what the cameras capture.

“The last couple of years, seeing what the Kershaws do. A lot you see on cameras, there’s so much more that he does behind the scenes that is not on cameras. It’s just really, really inspiring.”

As the evening progressed, the thrilling final round of the ping pong tournament featured an intense match-up between the talented Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman facing off against the formidable team of Clayton Kershaw and Austin Barnes. Ultimately, Freeman and Betts emerged as the triumphant champions, leaving the crowd in awe of their skills and sportsmanship.

We are honored to support a mission that extends beyond the baseball field, the ping pong table, and is larger than any one person or sport. Clayton Kershaw will always be remembered as one of the greatest pitchers of a generation, but he's ensured that will not be his only legacy, as the philanthropic work he devotes the rest of his time too will live on and continue to impact the lives of families across the globe.
